1. From what I can tell, UAE is emulating an Amiga flawlessly in your case. Battle Chess was slow on the original hardware, too; that's one reason I think it never really caught on since it was like watching paint dry. Nice try, no cookie.

    Those Epyx titles had graphic problems on the original hardware, too.

    Given the state of UAE these days, there's little reason to buy actual hardware. A2000s started having problems due to leaking batteries around 1993 and onwards; A3000s around 3 years after that. An A1200 doesn't have a clock native, so no battery, but getting stuff onto an A1200 without expansions is a real pain.

    The A1200 also shares a trait with the A4000 in that both are OS 3.x machines, and a lot of the older games don't work on OS 2.x, much less 3.x, nd you can't get the older OS to run well on the 1200 and 4000.

    My suggestion is get used to UAE, get the keyboard sussed out, get the joystick figured out, and don't bother with hardware.
