1. Languages: Logo, Pliant, Boxer, Dylan, Squeak, Inform

    OS: Oberon

Computer: Gogo Board, Handyboard, Handy Cricket (or are these gadgets?)

I think you'd be most pleased with the computers; a little soldering, a little programming, a little mechanics, and physical results.

  2. The computers look interesting, but actually, I am very much not a hardware guy. :-) I can't even stick additional memory in my PC, much less create one using soldering. All that stuff is too "earthy" for me, I guess.

The languages are interesting. I wonder if they have implementations for Zeta/BeOS...

  3. Language: Boo
Still in development stages, but even Guido has said it looks close to how he'd go w/ Python3000 on python-dev!

OS: Menuet and Unununuminum (or something like that)
Menuet is cool because it is all assembly, and fits on a floppy and has a (basic) UI.
Un... is in very early stages right now, but seems to be exploring some interesting OS concepts.

For something old/dated but cool (and along the hardware lines) check out the connection machines. A CPU organized by multipled mini-processer chips over 12-D and higher (if you pay more) hypercubes. Something different at least. Pity people didn't seem to get past the entry cost of $50K! in the early 90s
