2. oh, I found this by googling for the first random chunks of text I saw that I thought would give me an accurate search:
   "using zodb" "python hooks"
   
   It returned one result.. which pointed to the pdf on ZODB3 CVS. Since I lurk on the ZODB list; I know that the latest stuff is at ZODB now, so I rewrote the link by hand and found it.
