2. It's always interesting to encounter someone from my area when reading technical blogs (I'm in St. Pete - see me waving over there?). If for no other reason than to confirm there's more than one Pythonista in Florida :-)
   
   About that estimated bill: think. They could send thier people out to read your meter, or they could send them out to fix the damage. Your call, but I seem to remember you weren't too fond of power outages last time.
   
   Also, any overage that you pay on the estimated bill will eventually be used against a subsequent bill.
