2010 reprise
Like (almost) every year, a short summary of what happened in the past year in my life.
Actually, very little happened. I didn't leave the house very much, we didn't go on vacation or anything, no travel, etc. On the flip side, fortunately there were no deaths or serious health problems either. In short:
- I still have the same job at Oasis Digital, working 20 hours a week (so right now there's room for a few extra hours, should anyone want to hire me... Yes, that's a hint. :-)
- My wife's condition has been stable, and the latest scan was actually positive (i.e. there was shrinkage), giving us new hope.
- As for me, my blood pressure, which was through the roof last year, has remained in the safe zone, thanks to medicine.
- Daughter #1 moved out. We don't get to see baby Amari as often anymore. :-(
- Amari is doing well, although there was a scare a few months ago, when she had to be admitted to the hospital because of a stomach virus and the resulting dehydration.
- My MacBook deteriorated to the point where I could no longer use it, so I sold it on eBay, and got an iMac G5 to take its place. It works well, but it doesn't look like I will be doing any iPhone/iPad development anytime soon.
- OTOH, I got a new Windows machine for work, which does allow for Android development. :-)
- I started a number of new projects, like Delta and magicquery. Learned a bunch of new things too, mostly scattered over various domains, like web programming, artificial intelligence, Android, iOS, parsing, Forth, etc. (Which makes me wonder, what should I do with projects that are/were essentially experiments, but which probably won't be updated anytime soon? Should I throw them on github anyway in case they are useful to someone else?)
Uh, and that's about it. Like I said, not much happened. :-/
